We're pleased to announce the launch of our new beta channel and the availability of Preachit 3.6 in beta mode. This release contains some significant enhancements as well as several behind the scenes changes to prepare for the release of Joomla 3.0.
The biggest change in Preachit 3.6 is the addition of the new upload center. This is a one-stop solution for dealing with uploading and integrating any media with your message, series, teacher or ministry settings. The look and feel is similar to the Joomla media center to bring familiarity and ease of use. This is still in beta mode, so you may find some bugs in this. However, we are looking forward to rolling it out in a main release as soon as we can.
We have also done some work to try and make the feel and set up of the component a little simpler and less intimidating. We've hidden settings like folders, mediaplayers and share code under an 'advanced' tab so that you aren't confronted by just quite so many options when you go into the component in the admin area. The new upload center allows you to use the Joomla images folder off the bat, meaning that you do not need to set up a folder record to begin using Preachit. Also, all the component options have been moved from the admin tab and are now located in the component options popup. The admin tools, such as the image resize function are located under the advanced tab.
There are still some features to include in this release that will run across the modules as well and these will be added to the package as and when they are ready.
